Invisalign – Clear Braces

Invisalign® is a great way to make simple changes to your bite discreetly, and with the ability to remove the device when necessary. At Ridgeview Dental Group, we can close gaps, and help your front teeth become straighter while maintaining a metal-free smile. Orthodontics come with a wide variety of options, we can help you find the right treatment to fit your lifestyle, which may include Invisalign.

Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment done thru wearing a series of clear plastic aligners. With it, we can make simple changes, enhance your smile, while allowing you to keep a professional look. Patients who benefit from this system include:

  • Teens who play instruments: Braces can be complicated for patients who play musical instruments, Invisalign allows you to remove the aligner while you play and then simply place it back when you are done.
  • Teens who play sports: Sports that require lots of physical contact can be complicated for patients with braces. They frequently suffer from oral lacerations from the metal. Invisalign allows the patient to remove the device while they play and place it back in their mouth when they are done.
  • Patients who want to avoid metal: Orthodontic work may be necessary, but is not necessarily attractive. Some patients have avoided getting the work done because it would alter their look. Invisalign is nearly invisible, allowing you to wear it privately, no one will be the wiser.
  • Invisalign Process

Your Invisalign treatment begins with an examination. Together, we will determine if this treatment is ideal for your needs. We will review your teeth’s current position, and then review the end desired results. A mold of your current teeth placement and the desired result is sent to a dental lab where they will develop a series of durable polyurethane aligners designed to fit over your teeth. Once received you will wear the first aligner and then change to the next about every two weeks. We will still want to see you for regular checkups to monitor progress. Though the aligners are removable, patients are still asked to wear them for a minimum of 22 hours a day for optimal movement.

Patients love Invisalign, they come with many benefits. The most noticeable benefit comes from what you can’t see, namely the device itself. Invisalign is nearly invisible, and most people you interact with will never know they are there. Additionally, you have the benefit of removing them, this is ideal when eating, for brushing and flossing, and when engaging in activities that wearing the aligner would be difficult such as sports or playing instruments.

Caring for your Invisalign aligner is easy, you simply remove it while you eat, then replace it in your mouth when you are done. You can rinse it whenever you feel necessary. When you brush your teeth, remove it, brush it in addition to your teeth, and place it back into position. If the device becomes damaged, we may recommend a replacement, but most likely you can simply go to the next aligner in the series.
